Yabba Awards Ceremony

Along with many fellow authors & illustrators today I had the pleasure of attending the 2012 Yabba Awards Ceremony held at Trinity Grammar School in Kew. The event was driven by the wonderfully capable Graham Davey and his Yabba Committee and apart from the creative guests, the room was full of teachers, librarians, parents and most importantly, several hundred school children. There were competitions, awards, a Hall of Fame review and a Squiggle-o-graphy display before morning tea which was followed by a Meet and Greet author/illustrator book signing.

It was great to spend a morning with good friends and good books and especially nice for me today to celebrate the release of  my new book ‘Hey Baby!’ which came out last Thursday. Launch details coming soon.

  3. Sue Bursztynski That was a delightful day. I took my Book Club, who were a lot older than the other students, but I was able to let them get on with visiting their favourite writers while I signed. :-) Alas, the booksellers didn't bring any of my books, but the kids came and got bookmarks and programs signed and two even asked to be photographed with me! Was it a lovely surprise when those cute little boys brought you the Queenie birthday cake?
