Writing Memories

Today my little girl is 30 years old and my son will be 28 early next year. From my writing-beginning these two have put up with hearing my stories over and over again, to the point where my son Wade once said, ‘Mum, will you please not read your stories out to Edward any more.’

In January, it will be 20 years since I had my first educational book called ‘Dad and the Mosquito’ published and these are the precious messages my children gave me.

Briana aged 10

Wade aged 8

Over the years they have continued to listen to and give their opinions on my stories – some I accepted gracefully, others perhaps not so, but I will always be grateful for their input, support and having them in my life. They have been to every one of my picture book launches from the first ‘Queenie – One Elephant’s Story’ launch 10 years ago.

And once they appeared on the covers of my lecturer’s books, Leone Peguero from Box Hill TAFE.

Beautiful memories . . . and here they are on Cup Eve, Briana’s 30th Birthday.
