To the Bridge – Leongatha Launch – Thursday 12 March, 2020

This time next week I’ll be picking up the launch cake and waiting for Beryl Ferrier, the almost 95 year old sister of the main character in To the Bridge, to arrive from the airport. We will then drive to Leongatha in readiness for the first launch of the book which will take place at:

11.00 a.m. on Thursday 12 March

at the Lennie and Ginger Mick Statue,

Rotary Park, Anderson Street, Leongatha.

On what will be her 95th Birthday, Beryl will be launching the book with Wild Dog Book’s Publisher, Maryann Ballantyne, who worked on the book with me as publisher of Black Dog Books, an imprint of Walker Books Australia.

It’s exciting to be holding this launch at the beautiful statue of Lennie Gwyther and Ginger Mick which sits proudly in the centre of Leongatha. This statue was revealed on 14th October 2017 and I was privileged to attend.

If you live not too far from Leongatha, I think it will be a wonderful day of celebration and for those closer to Melbourne there will be a launch at REALM Library, Ringwood at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday, 4th April – more details to come.

  1. Christine Bell How brilliant that Beryl can be there and in the perfect place. Congratulations to you and Andrew (and Maryann) on another beautiful picture book. xx
