The Little Bookroom – Happy 60th Birthday

Yesterday, The Little Bookroom, one of Melbourne’s most loved bookshops and the oldest children’s specialist bookshop in the world, celebrated it’s 60th Birthday. The affair was to be a grand one, but as with all our lives and celebrations at the moment, it had to be marked in a more subdued way.
Leesa from The Little Bookroom, asked for personal memories of this precious place, so I’m sharing a few of mine below.

Also I cut and pasted some background from The Little Bookroom’s facebook page yesterday:
Albert Ullin OAM opened the doors of The Little Bookroom 60 years ago today! Australia’s first children’s specialist bookshop is now the oldest in the entire world! This year our community has strengthened and grown together. We’ve supported each other, from a distance. We’re keeping Albert’s dream alive, all of us. #TheLittleBookroomis60PS same shelves, different orchid.
