School Visit to St. Elizabeth’s Parish School, Dandenong North

Today I had the privilege of visiting St. Elizabeth’s Parish School in Dandenong North as part of the Author’s in Schools programme run and funded by the Children’s Book Council of  Australia, Victorian Branch. It’s a wonderful initiative to make sure children’s authors and illustrators visit schools who wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to have these visits.

I spent today being welcomed warmly by school staff, Trixie  Martin – who looks after the beautiful library and Michelle Nye in her role as CBCA Committee Member and of course by the children – grades Foundation, One and Two.

I read some of my stories, we played games with Hey Baby and Hey Dad You’re Great and the students had 1000’s of questions, which always makes it easier for the author.

I would also like to thank Sue Lawson who made me a movie of the launch of Little Dog and the Christmas Wish the book, as well as the 2015 Myer Windows launch – it’s been played many, many times over the last few weeks.

Thank you Michelle for taking such good care of me – such an advantage as I didn’t have to think about technology or running out of time for one moment.
