Portable Magic – Sue Lawson

With the influence Coronavirus is having on the world, as creators we are constantly looking for new and unique ways to reach our readers and audiences. We are all grappling with new platforms, new technology and new challenges and some of it is a bit scary.

My friend and fellow author, Sue Lawson met the challenges head on and created Portable Magic, where each week (online every Monday), Sue interviews Australian book creators.

So far, she’s interviewed Kaye Baillie, – we turned the tables and I interviewed Sue, next came Michael Wagner and this week Sue’s interview with me was posted.

Each interview is individual, but Sue has that rare gift of making the interviewee feel relaxed and comfortable and she’s ready and able to take charge if needed (I mean rescue the creator!)

Here’s the link to Sue’s interview with me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE_vjaabJTA where we chat about my picture books and also talk about my latest book, To the Bridge, beautifully illustrated by Andrew McLean and Published by Walker Books Australia. It is unofficially the last book under the imprint of Black Dog Books, as it was commissioned and championed by Maryann Ballantyne, Publisher Black Dog Books. It is my 12th Black Dog Book and will always be especially close to my heart.
