Pinerolo in The Blue Mountains
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting Margaret Hamilton’s wonderful Pinerolo in the heart of the beautiful Blue Mountains.
It’s one of those places you step into and are immediately captured by the array of books, art and all things children’s picture books. I could have sat there for days reading and drinking in the delicious creations. I did come away with two of Margaret’s own special books for my collection – Counting Through the Day and B is for Bedtime, both beautifully illustrated by Anna Pignataro and published by Little Hare. Books to treasure.
There are only two other places where I’ve felt the same wonder – on my first visit to the Ann’s Books Illustrated in Gasworks Art Park when I was a student at Box Hill TAFE learning how to write and at Glenda Millard’s precious Girrawheen where we once ran a SCBWI conference.
So here are some photos of Pinerolo and places around The Blue Mountains in winter.
