My Friend Tertius at Raffles Singapore
3 Oct, 2019 | What's happening in my writing life
The last time I was in Singapore was nine years ago. Back then I was still researching for My Friend Tertius and trying to find a vital piece of information i.e. How did Arthur Cooper, in 1942 when Singapore was falling, escape to Australia with his pet gibbon Tertius?
Well, i did find the answer and there is now a book, a copy of which I gave to Raffles Hotel this morning. It was a surreal feeling.
Tonight I am flying on to London where illustrator, Owen Swan and i will be meeting Arthur Cooper’s son Edward who helped fill in that vital piece of information, about 5 years ago.
We are both very excited.
ps please forgive bad layout for this post – written at Singapore airport on my iPhone.
