My First Blog
Well here I am, joining the ranks, finally, as an author blogger.
As with most technology things I am fearful, apprehensive and a little nervous to be taking this fairly big step (along with a new website) but I also believe that in today’s world of writing and books, if you want to survive at all, then being part of the blogging, social networking and information sharing scene, online, is the only way to go.
My aim is to write a regular blog on a regular day, so those following will know that on a certain day or time they can access my blog and know there will be a new entry there. I realise I will need to be very disciplined about this.
I would love to have my fellow author/illustrator friends, as well as children, librarians and teachers reading my regular blog and following what I am doing in my writing life.
I’ve included the photo below, because it was the very first carousel I found in Italy last year. It was sitting in a piazza (town square) in a tiny little village in the hills above Bologna, called Vignola. I have many carousel photos now, mostly European ones which family and friends have been snapping for me in their travels.
I should explain that my latest picture book ‘Flame Stands Waiting’ is the story of a stationary carousel horse, who in his heart wants to be a jumper, like all the others. The book was illustrated by Sebastian Ciaffaglione and Published by Black Dog Books.
