Making Memories
22 May, 2013 | What's happening in my writing life
Whistle blew,
streamers danced
white-funneled monolith
inched from the pier
into the sparkling blue.
Splashes of coconut palms
gave way to islands in the sun,
then a far away unfamiliar landscape
where life is not as precious.
Another ocean
then on to a land where
many cultures
are one – almost.
Stone columns
statues
crumbling remnants
from civilisations past.
Adventure beckoned
mountains called
rivers flowed
and we followed.
Cars
trains
boats
and planes
Growing
learning
living . . .
making memories
for a lifetime.
