Little Dog and the Summer Holiday in Paperback

I’m very pleased to say that Little Dog and the Summer Holiday has recently come out in paperback. Like its companion book, Little Dog and the Christmas Wish, this book is all about Little Dog, a cheeky West Highland Terrier and with this book, Harry the Westie was involved from the start.

With many Aussie summer holidays cut short because of the unprecedented bushfires this summer, I’d like to encourage everyone to plan short trips and weekends away to all the towns which have been affected, not just by the fires, but by the decrease in people visiting.

Beautiful towns like Bright, Beechworth, Myrtleford, Yackandanda, to name just a few in North East Victoria, and Metung, Paynesville, Bairnsdale in Gippsland and others, closer to Melbourne, like Leongatha, Inverloch and of course Lakes Entrance.

So whether it’s packing up the caravan or just throwing in an overnight bag, let’s all try and plan our weekends and holidays in country Victoria, New South Wales, and the South Australian wine areas over the coming weeks and months. And if you’ve never been there, plan a trip to Kangaroo Island, aside from the beauty of the place, it’s one of the best places on earth to watch the stunning night sky.

I wrote this book very much from my childhood memories of wonderful holidays spent traveling about Australia to many of these special places, because back then, that’s how we did it.

Overseas holidays are wonderful but as Little Dog has come to appreciate, in two books, there is no place like home.
