Little Dog and the Christmas Wish – Corinne Fenton and Robin Cowcher
Today is a very special day for me. I’ve often said that the release of a new book is a bit like giving birth – lots of ups and downs and pain along the way but the treasured gift at the end is worth all the agonising moments of worry and waiting.
‘Little Dog and the Christmas Wish’ will be released today. For Black Dog/Walker Books, for me and for Little Dog it has been a long wait and although I am very conscious that this has been a hugely lucky year for me with the publishing of so many books, none of these happened quickly or by accident. Each one has been a journey, some shorter, some longer and Little Dog’s journey and his footsteps have had all sorts of barriers along the way. Now though, he has arrived.
The excitement and interest in this book has already surprised me – the reports I have had from booksellers, not just Melbourne-based booksellers, but other Australian cities as well have taken him into their hearts.
There will be many celebrations beginning on October 25th with the launch in the beautiful and historic Block Arcade in Melbourne’s Collins Street. There will also be window displays and a wonderful Window Launch at The Little Bookroom’s Degraves Street shop on November 30.
If you’d like to come to the October 25 launch, please send me an email at [email protected] and I’ll send you an invitation.
