Koala Kids Book Club and Monash Children’s Cancer Centre

Through the wonderful Koala Kids Book Club I was invited to share my books with the children at both the Royal Children’s Hospital (2 week’s ago) and the Monash Children’s Cancer Centre on Monday.

I read these beautiful children my stories, we played ‘spot the animal’ games, chatted and coloured in animal sheets from ‘Hey Baby!’

We shared the story of Beth and Patches moving through the seasons in ‘Chasing Shadows’, I listened with a bursting heart to a one-year old’s squeals of delight as I turned the pages of ‘Hey Baby‘, traveled another animal journey with ‘Hey Mum, I Love You’ (and watched a 6 year old boy get lost in its message) and for the very first time I read my soon-to-be-released ‘Hey Dad, You’re Great’.

Books and children, what could be a better combination? I feel honoured to have been invited to spend precious moments with these special children.

  1. Hazel Edwards Worthwhile experience for books to take you to other worlds or to reassure that others have felt the same way.

christinemareebell Sharing books and stories, what a wonderful privilege and delight. Sounds like your young audience thralled too. I could almost hear that little one's squeals. They made me smile for you both. C
