Inspiration in Writing – Autumn

I have always said that autumn is my favourite season in Melbourne, but this autumn seems to be presenting an extra special display . . . everywhere I look trees are offering startling glimpses of what they can do.

I won’t pretend to know the names of all those I’ve photographed, but the liquid ambers are amazing, the ornamental pears and even a particular type of ivy all put on a beautiful show.

Yes, all of this is inspiring and while I am not necessarily in writing-mode at the moment, I am in research-mode and having all this beauty about me fills my heart and soul with writing fodder.

So although I’m itching to write, I must hold back and wait until the well is full of information and all the inspiration I can take hold of – only then will the words be right.

So here are some of those beautiful performers – all shapes, sizes and colours, but all of them beautiful.

Janeen Brian Beautiful and heart-wrenching at the same time. A proud display before the fall.
