Hey Mum, I Love You and Writing-life days

Yesterday was one of those emotionally high and low writing-life days. Wonderful to be looking at ‘almost-finished’ artwork for a 2015 book; devastating to learn that a book I’d been researching and working ‘on-the-inside’ for months, is already being done by someone else; and exciting and slightly perplexing to learn that ‘Hey Mum, I Love You’ has sold out of the first print run – perplexing because now we are all scrambling to find enough copies for the launch on May 3!

Today I am ordering the launch cake from the wonderful crew at the Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre – ‘Can they make a pig?’, writing an important proposal, while a fresh, new story is knocking on my head. We are so lucky to be creators and captured by the world of writing for children.

  1. Kaye Baillie A truly eventful post, Corinne. Congratulations on all these wonderful achievements but I was sorry to learn that one of your ideas was already being done. Hope you get enough copies of Hey Mum for your launch but how great is that - first print run sold out! Marvellous.

  2. janeen brian Those 'ups' seem fleeting, but are SO wonderful and nourishing! Sorry about the researched 'story'. I've had that happen. Not an easy thing to get over. There might be another way - maybe not just at this minute - but perhaps another angle, another opportunity . . .a little later on. Best wishes for a wonderful launch.

George Ivanoff SOLD OUT! How fantastic is that! Congratulations! And a big YAY for the 2015 book. Pity about the other project already being done by someone else, but hang on to your research and what you've already done... you just never know. I'm hoping to get the to the launch (not 100% sure yet). Now that I know there will be cake, I'll try even harder. ;-) All the very best, George

Hope you can find some copies so I can buy one at the launch. :) Sorry to hear about your researched story, but there may be another angle to come from.
