Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards 2015

The 2015 competition has now been open for one month and as was the case last year, contributions are slow to start.

Last year I read and re-read almost 5000 poems and I would love it if these poems could be sent in somehow more evenly, over the open period (1 March – 30 June 2015.)

Apart from anything else, it is far nicer reading 30 or so poems a day rather than 3, 4 or 500. So teachers, parents and students, it would be wonderful to see a whole stream of long, short, lovely, funny, scary, touching, creative or even sad poems come flying in, in April and May.

You have the option of using this year’s theme ‘The Open Door’ – doesn’t that inspire some wonderful images?

All the rules are on the website http://www.dorothea.com.au/

I look forward to receiving your poems.

Corinne
