Children’s Book Council of Australia National Conference Sydney

Last week I attended the CBCA National Conference in Sydney, always a smorgasbord of interesting presenters from children’s literature specialists to creators and everyone who is part of the children’s book industry in Australia.

Many of my friends and colleagues were presenting which made the conference a special one, but the in-between parts, chatting to friends, acquaintances and librarians was the heart of it for me. The coming together of like-minded people is always the best thing . . . so 4 days of constant talk on and immersion in children’s books was Delicious!

On the first day of the conference the CBCA Shortlist was also announced – excruciating for all those (like myself for Bob the Railway Dog) who had been long-listed in the Notables List. Bob didn’t make it unfortunately but the book still wears a shiny blue sticker.

The photos below show some of the special moments of both the conference and of Sydney.
