Book Signing – Collins/ABC Bookshop Bairnsdale – Saturday January 26, 2013

I can’t think of a nicer way to spend Australia Day than signing books, especially when I was made to feel so welcome at the Collins/ABC Bookshop in Bairnsdale by bookshop staff and customers. Thank you for inviting me.

There were local children and those passing through on their way home from holidays, a farmer who told me of his recent purchase of ‘The Dog on the Tuckerbox’ in a bookshop in Alice Springs and adults and children of all ages enjoying wandering in and out of the shop, browsing at books, having a chat or stopping for a coffee and something to nibble on at the bookshop cafe.

It was such a lovely atmosphere and I enjoyed every moment of the two hours I spent there busily signing and chatting to a constant parade of people. The highlight – a mother who bought a copy of ‘Hey Baby!’ for her son, who is shortly to have a baby sister and he is looking forward to reading the book to her.

I sold out of ‘Flame Stands Waiting’ and ‘The Dog on the Tuckerbox’, which is always a lovely thing to happen.

I wish I had of known as we were driving home from Eden and went through Barinsdale. It looks like you were well looked after. Wishing you a fun year ahead with lots of exciting book signings. Enjoy!

  2. Marjory Gardner Well done, Corinne! The balloons look really great; a good way of getting attention to your table in the shop. Maybe in future you should travel with your own balloon kit!
