Book Launch Cakes

While I’m in the midst of organising a book launch for this Saturday for Little Dog and the Christmas Wish . . . including the launch cake, the dog, the violinist, the speech and the acceptance list, I must say here that I couldn’t do it without the help of all those around me. Thank you. You know who you are.

Speaking of launch cakes, a few weeks ago I put an ad in both PIO and Facebook calling for those interested, to contact me regarding my pretend Queenie and Hey Baby! cakes which were becoming tired of being transported in and out of my car to travel to schools, libraries and presentations. I did not want them to become damaged and felt it was better they found a permanent home where they would be cared for and loved.

I gathered the names of all those interested and drew the two winners from a hat and I’m pleased to say that Queenie was won by Holy Spirit Primary School, North Ringwood and Hey Baby! was won by Tucker Road, Primary School, Bentleigh.

When I rang Holy Spirit and left a message, library staff knew immediately what the call was about, so Queenie has now been delivered to her new and safe home where a glass cabinet has been ordered for her.

The Hey Baby! cake will find its way to its new home very soon and thank you everyone for your interest.

If you are still planning on joining us for the Little Dog and the Christmas Wish launch this Saturday, please reply soon so we can be sure there’s enough cake, scones and lemonade to go around. Send me an email at [email protected] if you’d like to join us.

  1. Kaye Baillie Hi Corinne, So glad your two cakes have found safe homes - I'm sure they will bring many smiles to many faces. I won't be able to make your launch, but it sounds like it will be a terrific one. Hope to see you at next SCBWI? I'll be there. Cheerio for now, Kaye xx
