Being a Children’s Author – this week
I constantly feel privileged to be doing what I do for a job. What could be better than spending 5 hours (yesterday) trying to find the perfect line for a story and asking myself over and over again. Does that sound right? Is that the right word for that place? Can I do better?
So that was how I spent yesterday.
On Monday I was also privileged to be asked to be the Guest Author for Koala Kids at the Royal Children’s Hospital so I spent a few hours talking to some precious little ones, sharing my stories with them and even showing them some of my ‘very bad’ drawings.
Today I was out in beautiful Yarra Junction talking about my books to members of the Yarra Junction Probus Club – and pictured below are those who were lucky enough to have ridden on Queenie’s back.
And tomorrow, I’ll be at a school across the other side of Melbourne conducting writing workshops with some special Year 5 students.
