A day in the life of a writer who is actually writing!
There are so many aspects of being a writer – it’s actually a small business, which many people don’t think about. There’s the bookwork (which I am not very good at), the social media online presences, the promotional appearances, school visits and research, to name a few. Then there’s the writing, which sometimes in the general busyness, gets left behind.
Today I have been writing and I thought I’d record what my day has been like:
4.00 a.m. Woken by husband getting ready for the airport for an early flight.
5.00 am. Woken by husband leaving for the airport for an early flight.
6.00 a.m. Woken by husband advising he had actually arrived at the airport and was waiting for the early flight.
6.30 a.m. Coffee with son.
6.45 a.m. At the computer – in dressing gown.
11.45 a.m. Still at the computer and still in dressing gown. (Yay!)
(No interruptions except for writing-related ones. Shower and dress into comfy writing clothes.)
1.00 p.m. A sandwich lunch with my Thesaurus.
Later – a walk to let the words jumble about in my head and find the right place for them . . . hopefully.
Delicious.
And a special surprise yesterday was finding that Shannon, had made this gorgeous creation to honour my picture book ‘Bob the Railway Dog’ and posted it to social media. Thank you.
