There’s Something in the Wood Shed
There’s something in the wood shed,
I thought I heard it growl,
I thought I heard it slither,
I thought I heard it howl.
There’s something in the wood shed,
I’ve heard it day
. . . and night.
I’ve heard it chase the neighbour’s cat,
And it gave our dog a fright!
There’s something in the wood shed,
I’ve seen its shining eyes
Watching for the moon to wake,
And light the darkened sky.
There’s something in the wood shed,
And when the moon is bright,
I’ve seen it make a shadow
Upon the shed at night.
There’s something in the wood shed,
So I crept in there to peek,
And hiding right behind a log
Was a barn owl . . .
fast asleep.
