The trip taken by Lennie Gwyther and Ginger Mick

This time last year it was the launch of To the Bridge, illustrated beautifully by Andrew McLean, Published by Walker Books Australia and written by yours truly.

While we were lucky enough to launch in Leongatha (where the story began), because of Covid, the Sydney launch at a school overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and a Melbourne Launch at Ringwood Library, had to be canceled. My plan to drive the Lennie Gwyther and Ginger Mick journey, was also put on the back burner.

But now, one year later, I’m putting the finishing touches to the trip, starting in Leongatha on 22nd March, and continuing on through Traralgon, Sale, Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance, Orbost, Cann River, Bombala, Nimmitabel,  Cooma then on to Canberra, Goulburn and Sydney. I’ll be signing books, doing readings and talking about To the Bridge at bookshops and libraries along the way. Next week I hope to post a full itinerary as my blog post.

After visiting some bookshops in Sydney I’ll be returning down the Hume, calling into bookshops but also stopping to sign a big pile of  my book The Dog on the Tuckerbox at the newly revamped Dog on the Tuckerbox Cafe next to the famous statue. Published in 2008 by Black Dog Books (Walker Books Australia) and illustrated by Peter Gouldthorpe this book has remained a popular gift for Australians and overseas visitors.
